Our newest coffee fable is made from salvaged cherry and 1kg (2.2 pounds) of unrecyclable ocean plastic farmed from South Florida beaches.

Some plastics are too dangerous for us to recycle via heat, and with the strict recycling rules found throughout Florida, a lot of the plastic we farm can’t be recycled by traditional means. And, if it was disposed of via the usual waste stream, it may be landfilled to live a very long life in the earth.

Once we have collected a few pounds of this unrecyclable content, we like to come up with ways to safely recycle it. Along with coffee tables, we have also transformed this material into trophies, toys, lazy susans, and serving boards. And we are hoping that the next new product will be a library!
